About Us

counsellingpointCounselling Point Training and Development is a small counselling center with a big vision. It was established in 2005 under a professional license issued by the Dubai Economic Dept. As of 2012, we are also approved by KHDA – Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Government of Dubai.

We enable individuals make subject and career choices based on their interests, needs, academic profile, values, aptitude, maturity level and financial situation. We support students and their families throughout the admission process and provide both one-to-one and group counselling sessions. Our students are empowered to make informed choices to achieve their career and academic aspirations. We also undertake training programmes and workshops in the interest of students and families.

Founder & Director

Rema Menon V is the Founder and Director of Counselling Point Training and Development.  Menon holds a Masters degree in Medical and Psychiatric Social work from Stella Maris College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Women’s Christian college, both affiliated to Madras University, Chennai. She has over twenty five years of professional work experience in the areas of education, careers and child welfare. She regularly contributes to Gulf News and is frequently invited to share her views on careers, education, child safety and adolescent issues in various print media. She is currently the visiting counsellor at Birla Institute of Technology, Dubai campus and has been an adjunct at Sharjah Women’s College and a visiting counsellor at University of Dubai.

Counselling Partner

For over seven years, Menon has been the counselling partner of Gulf Education and Training Exhibition, GETEX. Menon also facilitates the promotion of US education by supporting Linden Education Services, International Student network and US Education Group. The Canadian Embassy in the U.A.E also works with Counselling Point during their Middle East Fairs.

Head Start for Higher Studies

Apart from this, Menon publishes a book titled ‘Head Start for Higher Studies’, (now in its fifth edition), which is distributed free of cost to high school students. She organizes several career and education related events in the interest of students and families. Her advisees are pursuing higher education and professions in various parts of the globe. Menon believes that counselling is her calling.
